Employment Opportunities at Providence

Explore a Teaching Career at Providence in 2025-26!

Providence is an excellent place to start teaching or to continue your teaching career.  This is because we have a:
  • Strong mission and vision for Reformed Christian education.  Since our founding in 1997, Providence has upheld a strong and united vision for Reformed Christian education, diligently keeping this mission central to the work of our association, board, staff, and students.  Our teachers bring this vision to life through carefully designed units and lessons that integrate faith with learning, as well as school culture initiatives like Living in Community and CREW.
  • Great staff. Our small, friendly, and dedicated staff works together to advance Reformed Christian education. We are committed to growing in three key areas:
    • Faith and Teaching: Deepening relationships with our Lord and Saviour, while incorporating authentic Christian faith into teaching, mentoring, and daily interactions.
    • Responsibility: Setting and pursuing ambitious goals, seeking growth through feedback, and taking ownership of our roles.
    • Collaboration: Fostering teamwork through encouragement, hospitality, and shared decision-making to create a unified educational community.

  • Supportive community.  The small size of our student body and school community fosters meaningful relationships, allowing us to know and support one another. Parents, board members, and our broader community consistently demonstrate their commitment through active involvement and encouragement.  This is a great place to grow!
  • Attractive compensation.  Providence has a salary grid that is equivalent to the LCRSS compensation package and designed to promote both future professional growth and long-term service at Providence.  We also provide additional support for teachers through:
    • A Christian Education Stipend for New Teachers: Our Christian Education Stipend supports new teachers in their first 10 years by significantly reducing student debt and helping you get started.
    • Exceptional Professional Growth Opportunities: our grid categories recognize a variety of credentials and professional development.  Our PD policy provides significant opportunity and generous financial support for professional growth and advancement on the grid.
    • 100% Tuition Benefit for Full-Time Teachers: Providence provides a 100% tuition benefit for full-time teachers with children attending Providence.
Ready to apply? Please send your cover letter, résumé, philosophy of education, statement of faith, and letters of reference (including one from your elder or pastor). Successful applicants must be eligible for membership in the school association, requiring membership in a confessional Reformed or Presbyterian church (i.e., a denomination within NAPARC).

We’d love to hear from you! Whether you have questions, want to start a conversation, or are ready to apply, reach out to our principal,
Mr. Michael Vander Deen

Are you considering teaching as a career?

Teaching in a Reformed Christian school is an excellent way to faithfully use the talents and gifts that God has given to build God’s Kingdom.  God calls our covenant community to teach the next generation the glorious deeds of our Lord (Psalm 78) and prepare students for whole-hearted service in His Kingdom (Psalm 48).  Teaching in a Reformed Christian school is a noble way to contribute to our covenantal and Kingdom task.
If you are considering becoming a teacher, we would like to meet you, introduce you to our school, discuss mentorship opportunities through Teacher's College, and discuss employment opportunities in the 2025-26 school year and beyond.  We believe Providence is a great place to start teaching.  Please contact our principal, Mike Vander Deen, to start this conversation.
