Employment Opportunities at Providence

Providence invites your interest and application for teaching positions in the 2023-24 school year.

Providence is an excellent place to start teaching or to continue your teaching career.  This is because we have a:
  • Strong mission and vision for Reformed Christian education.  Since the founding of Providence in 1997, our school community has had a strong and united vision for Reformed Christian education.  We are diligent in keeping this mission and vision central to the work of our association, board, staff, and students.  Our teachers bring mission and vision to life through unit and lesson design, and school culture initiatives like Living in Community and Crew.
  • Great staff.  Our staff is small, friendly, and dedicated to working together in Reformed Christian Education.  Our staff is committed to growing in:
    • Faithfulness: growing in relationship with our Lord and Saviour, and looking for ways to bring our authentic Christian faith into teaching, modelling and mentoring,
    • Responsibility: setting goals, showing initiative, growing through feedback, and taking ownership of tasks,
    • Collaboration: working together as a team, extending hospitality and encouragement to one another, making decisions and taking action together.
  • Supportive community.  The membership and supporting community of Providence loves the school and is very supportive of the staff.   The small size of our student body and school community helps us to know and support one another.  This is a great place to grow!
  • Attractive compensation.  Providence has a salary grid that is equivalent to the LCRSS compensation package and designed to promote both future professional growth and long-term service at Providence.  We also provide additional support for teachers through:
    • A Christian Education Stipend for New Teachers: our Christian Education Stipend is for teachers in their first 10 years of teaching with a Christian post-secondary degree or certificate.  This stipend provides substantial support to help eliminate student debt and get you started.
    • Exceptional Professional Growth Opportunities: our grid categories recognize a variety of credentials and professional development.  Our PD policy provides significant opportunity and generous financial support for professional growth and advancement on the grid.
    • 100% Tuition Benefit for Full-Time Teachers: Providence provides a 100% tuition benefit for full-time teachers with children attending Providence.
Please contact our principal, Mike Vander Deen, to start a conversation about applying to and working at Providence Reformed Collegiate.  If you are ready to apply, applications should include a cover letter, resume, letters of reference (including one from your elder/pastor), a philosophy of education, and a statement of faith.

Are you considering teaching?

Teaching in a Reformed Christian school is an excellent way to faithfully use the talents and gifts that God has given to build God’s Kingdom.  God calls our covenant community to teach the next generation the glorious deeds of our Lord (Psalm 78) and prepare students for whole-hearted service in His Kingdom (Psalm 48).  Teaching in a Reformed Christian school is a noble way to contribute to our covenantal and Kingdom task.
If you are considering becoming a teacher, we would like to meet you, introduce you to our school, discuss mentorship opportunities through Teacher's College, and discuss employment opportunities in the 2024-25 school year and beyond.  We believe Providence is a great place to start teaching.  Please contact our principal, Mike Vander Deen, to start this conversation.
